HONORARY CONSUL OF THE REPUBLIC OF ALBANIA IN KHARKIV

Honorary Consul of Albania Shahin Omarov on behalf of the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Book of Records of Ukraine presented the Diploma of Record to the Rector of Kharkiv National Pedagogical University. G.S. Skovorody Ivan Prokopenko

Shahin Omarov fixed the record  and congratulated the students of the Kharkov National Pedagogical University G.S. Skovorody  and personally the rector of the university - academician Ivan Prokopenko with setting a record: “The most massive performance of the Ukrainian folk dance “ Gopak ”.

He expressed sincere thanks for the new record to everyone who had the honor to join the original memorable event!

The event took place on the main square of the Central Park of Culture and Rest named after Maxim Gorky.

The participants of the event are students of all faculties of Kharkiv National Pedagogical University. G.S. Skovorody, led by members of the Folk Dance Ensemble "Zoritsvit".

The total number of dancers is more than 400 (four hundred) people. The total number of participants in the event is more than 2000 (two thousand) people.

The purpose of the event is to promote the national revival of national-cultural traditions and patriotic education, the inheritance of the spiritual heritage of the Ukrainian people, popularization among the youth of the hopak, as a dance of Cossack origin.

The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration Anatoly Babichev and Larisa Karpova, Director of the Department of Science and Education, HOGA.
