Honorary Consul Omarov Shahin takes part in the work of the anti-crisis headquarters to combat the coronavirus pandemic!

06.04.2020

On March 16, 2020, at the initiative of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, were created regional anti-crisis headquarters to combat the coronavirus pandemic. The anti-crisis headquarters in the Kharkiv region is headed by the owner and president of the DCH group, Alexander Yaroslavsky. The Kharkiv anti-crisis headquarters includes the mayor of Kharkiv, Gennady Kernes, and the head of the regional state administration, Aleksey Kucher.

The next day, March 17, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Albania Omarov Shahin was included in the working group of the Kharkiv headquarters, and on March 19 a meeting of the headquarters was held, in which participated about fifty businessmen and public leaders of the Kharkiv region. During the meeting were discussed the question of raising additional funds to combat the coronavirus epidemic in the region, including the purchase of personal protective equipment, expensive medical equipment, artificial lung ventilation (ALV), support for medical facilities and socially vulnerable groups of people. One of the tasks set for combating the pandemic is to provide essential products and opportunity to avoid public places, such as shops and pharmacies, for socially vulnerable groups.

Many businesspersons of the Kharkiv region participate in this project: some business representatives contributed in cash, others who have their own production provide food products directly. The composition of the food packs includes products and essential goods: sugar, flour, pasta, tea, sunflower oil, cookies, sweets, canned meat and sausages.

After consultation with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania, Shpresa Kureta, it was decided that Honorary Consul Shahin Omarov would take on himself the organization and implementation of a charitable project of targeted assistance to socially vulnerable groups. According to the lists formed by representatives of social services and regional authorities, food packages in the amount of 150 000 pieces and first-aid kits in the amount of 40 000 pieces will be transferred by representatives of social institutions to low-income families, single elderly people and other socially unprotected groups of the population living in the Kharkiv region.

To carry out this project, namely: receiving, storage, packaging, transportation and targeted delivery of food and first-aid kits, the Honorary Consul Omarov Shahin allocated more than 3 500 000 UAH (by taking the loan in the bank), warehouse and production facilities, as well as 15 specialized machines for transporting food. As of April 6, 2020, 100 000 food packages were handed over, while the total weight of the handed over food products would be more than 1 000 000 kg or 75 trucks. In total, more than 100 people are involved, and the work process is organized in 3 shifts.

On behalf of all Kharkiv citizens, Omarov Shahin expresses deep gratitude to Alexander Yaroslavsky, Gennady Kernes, Igor Terekhov, Alexei Yaroslavsky, Victoria Kitaigorodskaya, Vadim Hanenko and all entrepreneurs participating in the anti-crisis headquarters for the benefit of their small homeland. A special gratitude, of course, deserves the friendly and responsive team of the Khazar company, its management staff: Kamran Abbasov, Irina Ivanova, Oleksandr Kisten, Elena Naumenko, Fayaddin Kerimov and other employees who have been working tirelessly for 3 weeks to provide food for socially vulnerable groups of the population.

We hope that decisive action and unity of public figures of Kharkiv region during difficult times in order to help compatriots will serve as a good example for many Ukrainians, as only by joint efforts we can defeat today's invisible enemy.
