HONORARY CONSUL OF THE REPUBLIC OF ALBANIA IN KHARKIV

Honorary Consul of Albania Shahin Omarov participated in the official meeting of the Secretary of the Kharkiv City Council Igor Terekhov and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Ukraine Elmira Akhundova.

During the meeting held in the Kharkiv City Council, the parties signed a Bilateral Statement of the Kharkiv City Council and the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Ukraine on expanding cooperation with the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The statement envisages expanding cooperation in the fields of culture, education, science, health care and other spheres of public life. One of the main points of the document is the installation in Kharkiv of a monument to the classic of Azerbaijani poetry, poet of the medieval East and philosopher Nizami Ganjavi, whose birthday this year will mark 880 years.

In turn, Elmira Akhundova noted that Kharkiv has preserved the dignity and pride of the capital city and in the near future will be linked by twinning relations with one of the cities of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The meeting was attended by the leaders and representatives of the national-cultural associations of Azerbaijanis in Kharkiv, representatives of the diplomatic corps of the Kharkiv region, responsible leaders of the Kharkiv City Council.
