The Museum of Religions is opened in Kharkiv.
06.07.2015On the territory of the regional landscape park Feldman Ecopark the opening of the Museum of religion, which is to become not just a museum, and a discussion club, a platform for interfaith dialogue and search for solutions to pressing issues of social development is planned.
"We live in difficult times, when the world is faced with an epidemic of violence, and the international community is going through a renaissance of religious confrontations. And one of the main reasons is lack of knowledge about each other, about religions. Ignorance breeds fear and hatred. Tolerance can be learned through knowledge, "- said the initiator of the opening, MP Oleksandr Feldman.
According to him, religion Museum is an extension of the Kiev interfaith forum. "Ukraine, despite all the difficulties and the war must not lose its role as a platform for inter-religious dialogue among all the world's religions", - said Feldman.
At the heart of the exhibition "Museum of religions" sacred artifacts and works of art from the private collection of Alexander Feldman Feldman Family Museum.
Among them, the image of Buddha, Hindu gods and Shinto pantenonov, Tibetan ritual shell sacred Muslim swords "Zulfikar" African magic figurines "N'kisi" ritual candle "menorah", paintings and sculptures on the theme of Jewish, Christian icons, pectoral crosses and more.
An important component of the exhibition is the reconstruction of ancient temples and shrines located in different places of the Earth.
