HONORARY CONSUL OF THE REPUBLIC OF ALBANIA IN KHARKIV

Honorary Consul of Albania Shahin Omarov together with the Chairman of the Diplomatic Mission of Albania Adhurim Rezuli took part in laying flowers at the memorial to the victims of totalitarianism

Together with the general public of the Kharkiv region, Mr. Shahin Omarov and Mr. Adhurim Resuli honored the memory of the victims of totalitarianism with a minute of silence and laid flowers at the Memorial of Glory.

The event was attended by the heads of the Kharkiv city and regional councils, the Kharkiv regional state administration, representatives of the diplomatic corps, representatives of Catholic religious organizations and public associations of Poles, student and student youth of the city of Kharkiv.

The organizers of the event are the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Kharkov, Kharkov City Council with the support of the public organization "House of Polonia in the East".

Reference. The memorial to the victims of totalitarianism was opened on June 17, 2000 in the Kharkiv forest park at the initiative of the presidents of Ukraine and Poland. In 1940, more than 3.8 thousand Polish officers and 500 civilian Polish citizens were shot there.
