HONORARY CONSUL OF THE REPUBLIC OF ALBANIA IN KHARKIV

September 4, 2015 in Kharkiv International Economic Forum for business and investment was held. The forum was attended by the Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration Igor Raynin, Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA to Ukraine Jeffrey Payet, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Ukraine Case Ian Rene Klompenhauver, Program Manager of EU cooperation Berend de Groot, Head of Kharkiv Regional Council Sergey Chernov and others.

Also, at the invitation of the Governor of the Kharkiv region the official delegation of the Republic of Albania, headed by the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Water Administration Edmond Panariti, with the Secretary General of the Ministry Vojo Bregu, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Albania in Kharkiv Shahin Omarov and business representatives of Albania came to the forum.

In his report, among other things, the Head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration Igor Raynin noted the importance and prospects of cooperation between Kharkiv region and the Republic of Albania in the agricultural sector.

Minister Panariti thanked the regional government for the peaceful situation in Kharkiv, as well as for the excellent organization of the Forum. He also stressed that Albania shows full support to Ukraine at the international level, supports its territorial integrity.

Also in the framework of the forum the Minister held a meeting with Deputy Minister of Agrarian Industry and Food of Ukraine Vladislava Rutitska, Deputy governor of the Kharkiv region Mark Bekker and Julia Svetlichna. The parties discussed the possibility of cooperation between Ukraine and Albania, the establishment of mutual trade between the two countries, as well as simplification of customs procedures. Minister Panariti added that the signing of specific contracts is expected during the possible meet with Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry of Ukraine or his Deputy in Tirana.

Another point of the visit of the Albanian delegation to Kharkiv was a meeting with the administration of relevant agricultural research and training centers. Among them were: the Institute of Plant Yuryeva of National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, Institute of Vegetables and Melon-growing of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, Dokuchaev National Agricultural University and Kharkiv State Veterinarian Academy. The Minister discussed with representatives of the institutions the possibilities of exchanging scientific expertise, laboratory samples and students between Ukraine and Albania.
