HONORARY CONSUL OF THE REPUBLIC OF ALBANIA IN KHARKIV

Honorary Consul of the Republic of Albania in Kharkiv attended the event dedicated to the Day of National Mourning in Azerbaijan.

January 18, 2015 in the conference hall of Kharkiv Palace Premier Hotel a meeting-requiem on the occasion of the Day of National Mourning in Azerbaijan, known as Black January was held. Members and guests of the meeting paid tribute to the more than 100 dead and more than 700 injured as a result of the tragic events of January 20, 1990 in Baku, capital of Azerbaijan. The event was also attended by the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Albania in Kharkiv Shahin Omarov.

The audience was offered to watch the documentary film "Bloody January", which tells about the events of 1990 in Baku. Representatives of foreign delegations arriving in Azerbaijan on an official visit, always visit the "Alley of Martyrs", laying a wreath of flowers. In memory of the events of "Black January" one of the stations of the Baku Metro is called the "January 20".
