HONORARY CONSUL OF THE REPUBLIC OF ALBANIA IN KHARKIV

The Day of Victory over Nazism in World War II was celebrated In Kharkiv.

May 9, 2016 in Kharkiv, events were held on the occasion of Victory Day. 71th anniversary of the victory over Nazism in World War II was met by laying flowers to the monument of the Sorrowful Mother at the Memorial of Glory in the forest park.

Thousands of people took part in laying the flowers to honor the memory of those who gave their lives defending the country, and pay tribute to the veterans who are still alive. Among them were representatives of regional and city authorities, veterans, soldiers, clergy, veterans' social organizations and the diplomatic corps of Kharkiv. All participants of the event laid flowers to the memorial and honored the memory of victims with the minute of silence. Honorary Consul of the Republic of Albania in Kharkiv Shahin Omarov also laid the bouquet on the occasion of Victory Day.

During the ceremony of laying flowers cadets of military high schools of Kharkiv marched. In memory of the liberators of the city sounded the triple salvo. A clergy served at the Memorial of Glory the memorial prayer.
