HONORARY CONSUL OF THE REPUBLIC OF ALBANIA IN KHARKIV

Honorary Consul Shahin Omarov payed a working visit to Kyiv.

7-9 May 2015 Honorary Consul of the Republic of Albania Shahin Omarov was in Kyiv for a working visit. Also in the Ukraine at the official invitation to participate in the celebration of the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation arrived Ambassador of the Republic of Albania Shpresa Kureta. May 7, together with Honorary Consul Ambassador of Albania had a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine with the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Director of the Second European Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. During the meeting the political situation in Ukraine, deepening cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Albania, political consultations between the states at the level of directors of departments of Ministries of Foreign Affairs were discussed. The sides agreed to hold political consultations on June 15 in the city of Kyiv.

Honorary Consul also held a number of meetings in Kiev, such as with the Head of the parliamentary group of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on inter-parliamentary relations with the Republic of Albania Vitaliy Kurilo, which was attended by the Ambassador of Albania. They discussed issues of cultural and scientific cooperation, outlined plans for the implementation of this cooperation in the nearest future.

May 8 Honorary Consul Shahin Omarov, together with the Ambassador Shpresa Kureta participated in the events dedicated to the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation, where the Heads of Embassies of the States and the International organizations in Ukraine were invited.

In addition, during the trip Honorary Consul discussed with the Ambassador of Albania, the current work of the Honorary Consulate. Shpresa Kureta appreciated the important contribution of Shahin Omarov in the development of relations between two countries in such a short period of time.
