Honorary Consul of the Republic of Albania took part in the requiem meeting «Khojaly. A Memory That Time Will Not Erase»

The organizer of the event is the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Kharkov.

     

     Together with the gathering, Shahin Omarov honored the memory of those killed on February 25-26, 1992 in the city of Khojaly in Azerbaijan with a minute of silence.

      Participants in the mourning event watched films, photographic materials and documentary chronicles certifying the scale of the tragedy.  

     Honorary Consul of Azerbaijan Afgan Salmanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Ukraine Azer Khudiyev, Chairman of the Kharkiv Regional Council Sergey Chernov, Deputy Mayor Gorbunov-Ruban S.A., representative of the Department of International Relations of the COGA Nikolay Granovsky, Chairman of the Kharkiv Regional Society Azerbaijani-Ukrainian friendship "Dostlug" Murad Omarov.    

     The rectors, teachers and students of Kharkіv universities, representatives of the diplomatic corps and public associations of Kharkiv region took part in the mourning event.

Recall:

     On February 26, by decision of the National Assembly (Parliament) of Azerbaijan, declared the "Day of the Khojaly Genocide", commemorating the memory of the victims of Khojaly.

      The Khojaly massacre is a massacre of the inhabitants of the Azerbaijani city of Khojaly, which in a number of sources is characterized as the largest and most brutal bloodshed during the days of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. During the attack, 613 people died (63 of them are children, 106 women), 487 people were injured and 1,275 were taken hostage.
